What You Said???

The title is Cash speak for 'What did you say?'

Just have half a second for a quick post....then I will be busy gathering, sorting and packing for our camping trip this weekend.

Dialogue:
Jasmine - 'I don't have any homework.'
Joe - 'You don't? Why not?'
Jasmine - 'Well, I already know all the answers.'

Joe - 'I rented Rambo at Blockbuster'
Cash (carrying the movie) - 'Here mom, here's rainbow'
**Joe and I really thought that was funny for some reason**

Translations:
Jasmine ** sun scream = sun screen
Cash ** flick flocks = flip flops

See how easily amused we are. I just love having them around!

Have a GREAT weekend!!

Play by Play

FRIDAY
What happens when daddy leaves the door to the jam room open and unattended...

SATURDAY

See what the kid's (Ethan) caught behind Grandpa's house

**this was in the beginning, I'd say they ended up w/ approx. 35**
Some Hungry Hungry Hippo action
This poor horse has given so many rides in its 11+ years,

I'm amazed it's still in one piece.

Three little monkeys climbing up a tree

They wanted to be outside, but still wanted to play with all the toys???

**The door leading to the trampoline area was probably opened more times Saturday than the entire month of April**
and "Shut the Door!" was the phrase of the day!
See what Zipper caught outside of Grandpa's

**if you look closely you'll see a little field mouse right in front of her**
And a snow cone stop before the long drive home...

SUNDAY

Joe and I dropped the kid's off at a friend's and went to a BBQ...alone

**It's nice to occasionally not have the kiddos, we don't do that often enough**

Thanks for the ring pop Aunt Heather - YUMMY!!
MONDAY

Met some friend's at the park that has the FREE water area

**I for see us getting a LOT of use out of the park this summer**

Watch the Birdie

A couple week's ago Jasmine was so excited to see birds in the nest on our porch. She insisted I take a picture.

A little closer view

Well, Monday night she came running in full speed telling me to come look at the baby bird's.

When I got out there and saw all of them with their heads poking over the top of the nest I ran back for my camera. As I took the first picture they all stuck their heads straight up in the air, opened their mouths wide and started 'talking'. This was one time I was thankful for the delay that comes with taking a digital picture.....

Aren't they precious!!!

I then explained to Jasmine we needed to go in so the mommy and daddy bird could come feed them. So we went in and she watched out the front window to make sure they got their dinner.

Another Favorite

Does anybody else buy this stuff? I just love it!!
Especially since it's sugar-free!!
This size will make a whole pitcher and is so easy.
Cash's favorite is Peach and Jasmine's is Pink Lemonade
**I no longer buy strawberry cause it stains too bad and I'm lazy and don't want to have to clean it up every time it gets spilled* *
(which unfortunately is A LOT)!

* *And when the containers are empty, they make a great pencil holder * *

Calm Before the Storm

This weekend was a nice change of pace. The only thing we had going Saturday was taking a meal to a friend who just had a baby, which was easy enough since I had a lasagna in the freezer I had prepared a month or so ago just waiting to be eaten! ~~Aren't newborns the best...oh I just love loving on a newborn. This couple is in our small group from church and her family does not live in Texas, so I have deemed myself Aunt Laurie to little Micah.

Sunday after church one of our Sunday School teacher's sons came home with us and Joe and him jammed for a few hours. During this time I prepared two meals for later in the week...a Mexican Lasagna and Meatloaf Muffins (which are Joe's favorite). It was so nice last night to get home and put the meatloaf in the oven and the potatoes on the stove without messing with preparation. This is a Weight Watcher's recipe I got years ago (2 pts. per muffin), 'they are so tasty' (Cash's words) and easy...

Turkey Meatloaf Muffins

1 lb ground turkey
1 egg
½ package of stove top stuffing
½ tsp garlic
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
¼ cup ketchup
¼ cup onion

Mix all ingredients. Spray muffin tin w/ cooking spray. Bake for 45 minutes @ 350
(approx. 10 muffins)

Our schedule is full again for awhile, so it was nice for a quiet weekend. Coming up we have:

--Small group cookout
--Concert in the park
--Jasmine's field day
--Trip to Grandpa's
--Memorial Day party
--Dr. Appt (please pray for me)
--Girl's night out
--Jasmine's K graduation
--Camping trip

That is just the forecast for the next two weeks, believe me, I could go on and on....

BTW - I LOVE the new warmer weather!!!

Crazy Hair

The other week at Jasmine's school they had a 'crazy hair' day in honor of TAKS testing that had occurred during the week. We did her hair up in ponytails..about five of them...with different color ribbons on each one. It looked real cute, here are the pics....

Oh wait, that's me...
Yeah, Jasmine did my hair the other night while we were watching 'Freaky Friday' and assured me I looked GOR-geous!

A Trip to Meme's

Saturday the kid's and I went to my mom's house for a visit Saturday. We had lots of fun.

Of course Cash found a costumes to wear...
**and since Cash had one on Luke grabbed one too, think he's grown a little**

The girl's hung out in their 'dressing room' - aka: the top bunk - doing make-up!

In true Jasmine fashion, at some point she snagged my camera and took some pictures of her own...
(two of them below)

Sidewalk chalk is FUN!

Something you don't get to do when you live in the country

At some point one of the kids got an orange...which means ALL of the kids wanted an orange, good thing Meme had a whole bag of them.

(and yes, Cash found another costume...Red Power Ranger)

Happy Monday

The other night while making dinner Cash came clickety-clacking through the kitchen with some of Jasmine's dress shoes and a tulle skirt on--you know I had to grab my camera. He went into our front room and was on the couch when I caught up to him and I think he was a little embarrassed that I had my camera out for a picture.

I promise I did not pose him into this.

And I'm sure he'll hate me for taking the picture in a few years!!!

Puppies...

Our neighbors got puppies, why you ask am I taking pictures for my blog...because this is what I see every time I open my front door...actually what I see are two black balls of fur shooting past my legs and making a mad dash into my house...
did I mention our NEIGHBOR got two new puppies!
;;
Even caught Jasmine trying to sneak one to her room the other night...
Oh I have a bad feeling about this!

Pictures from Sunday

After church our Sunday School group went to the local park for lunch. The weather was perfect and everyone had a great time.

Here is Jasmine and Cash hunting down some poor man trying to fish in peace. He'd quietly pick up his stuff and move down a little and they'd just follow him. When I finally reached them and steered them in a different direction you could see his sense of relief.

Daddy and the guys threw the football around

Jasmine playing in the sand in the horseshoes pit
**and was not too happy when the guys decided to play horseshoes**
***to their credit she had moved on until the horseshoe game started and then plopped herself down in the end zone again***

The park has a FREE water area for the kids. And since the kid's had changed out of their church clothes, I told them to go for it. So much fun for them

And I hear a rumor we are getting one of these parks in our small town...

After the kids were done playing in the water and in dry clothes, they decided to watch for fish...

In her Easter dress :(

** Love this one **

Keepin Busy

Another weekend behind us and it was another great one.

Friday when I got home Joe had picked up the kids, cleaned the kitchen and made dinner...
I heart him!

Saturday we did not have anything until the evening so we spent our day chillaxing at home. I sat out on our porch swing and read a book while the kids played. I also made a dump cake for the evening and it was smelling up the house something good. While it was cooling Jasmine (at least that's what Joe told me--he may have been a little guilty too) decided to give it a taste test. After that I covered it up and took it to the van...and locked the doors (not a practice we generally exercise in the country)! BTW - it turned out REALLY good and is soo easy.

Here is the recipe...

Dump Cake

1 can cherry pie filling
1 can crushed pineapple
1 box yellow cake mix
1 stick margarine
1/2 stick butter

Dump cherry pie filling and crushed pineapple into baking dish. Stir together. Sprinkle cake mix over the top of the fruit. Slice margarine and butter and distribute over the surface of the cake mix. Bake this sacrilege at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Saturday evening we went to some friends house and had a total of 7 children there....it was LOUD! Below is a picture of the end of the night. We were all trying to round up our kids and they insisted the puzzle had to be put together before we could go. Catch is, I know I put the same state in at least five times. They just kept taking them off the board to prolong the process. Sneaky little suckers!

Sunday was great too, I will post about it with pictures tomorrow.

Outta time -- gotta go for today!!

O Praise Him

OK, dang it, I've been trying to post a You Tube video and it continues to give me an error message...so I just had to post the link. This video from the David Crowder Band is so great.
I love love love it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpVsF4W8V2Y

Along the same lines as the video...I was in the copy room the other day and had quite a stack of stuff so I took my music and headphones with me. I was tapping my foot and singing along when one of the other manager's said rather loudly 'Good Song??' OH YEAH!!

Flowers

Indian Paintbrushes
These were my favorite when I was young.

Jasmine and Cash picked me a bunch the other night and I must say, they are just as beautiful as these that Joe bought me for our Anniversary in March.

I am Loved!!

Blessed Beyond Belief!

Thank you Lord Jesus!!
